Craftiness is hit or miss with me. I really have to be in the mood for my creative juices to flow. I am a fan of simple crafts that appear they took a lot more effort, so I am posting a couple easy DIY projects for you to try too.
It must be deep in my DNA because my Mom has been crafting all her life. In fact, she recently opened her own Etsy shop and is creating some fun new trendy items available for purchase. My favorites are her coffee filter wreaths and infinity scarves, as pictured below. Check her shop out and tell her I sent you – she would love to hear from you!
These projects below aren’t for sale, but just my attempt at a little handmade goodness in our house.
Chalkboard Painted Wine Glasses
Set of 4 wine glasses
A very simple tutorial can be found on Joann.com here. I didn’t plan this project exactly, but when I found wine glasses on clearance for $5 for a set of 4 at Walmart after Christmas, I figured why not! This will alleviate the “Whose glass is that?” debacle that so many people encounter at parties.
Burlap Loopy Wreath
1 Spool of Loose Weave Burlap
Chevron Ribbon (for bow)
1 Wreath Frame
Scrapbook Paper (Trace letter on the scrapbook paper and then cut out and glue it on the letter)
This crafter does a great job showing how to make the loops on her blog. It is WAY easier than it looks. After a little bit of practice, you will be pleasantly surprised at how it comes together!
