Since I met you and brought you home at a mere 3 months old, you have changed my world. Reluctantly, I learned how to wake up EARLY and make sure you didn’t potty yourself or your bed during training. I learned how to photograph dogs. I even discovered that your silhouette would be my official photography logo. You are a testament to true patience. Even during this very shoot, you waited an eternity for me to get THE perfect shot, while a delicious cake was within inches of your nostrils. There really aren’t words to describe how much of a good boy you are. Happy 6th Birthday to my first “baby.”

Homemade Dog Cake
1/4 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup applesauce or vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup honey
1 cup shredded carrots (you can leave these out too)
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
Combine egg, peanut butter, applesauce, vanilla, and honey in a large bowl; blend well. Stir in the carrots, flour & baking soda. Don’t worry if the batter appears thick. Bake in a loaf plan in oven for 20 minutes at 350. Be sure to check it a little sooner to make sure it doesn’t get too crispy! I used a combination of honey and peanut butter (melted in microwave) to frost the cake!
